In 1998, Domenico Franchi is contacted by the scenographer Ezio Frigerio and begins an intensive activity as his collaborator for more than ten years working on major projects for the greatest opera houses in the world.
The opportunity to follow closely the creative work of one of the most gifted and fine masters of scenography of the twentieth century became an occasion of great artistic and professional growth. In this context Franchi was able to observe and apply consistently some fundamental principles that distinguish the works of Frigerio: first of all, the primacy of coherent idea over the easy effect, the absolute formal strictness, the technical research always on the extreme limit of the possible but strongly bent to one's needs, the dramaturgical concept of space, the quality sought and obtained without compromise in all aspects of the work.
Although Domenico Franchi has developed his own aesthetic language, different from that of the master, this path has had a very deep influence on him in particular in the high quality approach to work that he applies to all creative fields in which he operates.
There are more than thirty projects where Franchi collaborated with Ezio Frigerio.
